Welcome to SDJH!
San Diego Jewish Homeschoolers is a Jewish enrichment community Co-Op serving San Diego families. We offer educational enrichment programs for homeschoolers in various beautiful settings throughout San Diego, as well as support and resources for parents. Our enrichment programs were developed by and for local Jewish families desiring child-centered & community-based Jewish education.
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
We believe in child-driven education, that Torah and Judaism can and should be lived through life experience, and encourage self-motivated growth and creative expression for children and adolescents in all areas of their development. We want our children to be connected with Hashem and their own intellectual, spiritual, and emotional selves with a goal of holistic development rooted in Judaism.
BAAL SHEM TOV NATURE SCHOOL MONDAY:
The Baal Shem Tov School is an outdoor Jewish nature program with an emphasis on Torah, nature, stories of tzadikim, survival skills, Jewish Holidays, and scientific exploration. The motto is “Ivdu es Hashem b’simcha!” The program incorporates art, music, journaling, and hands-on learning. There is a special focus on the concept that “everything we see is a lesson in serving Hashem.” The program meets weekly on Mondays.
LIVING THE PARSHA TUESDAY CO-OP:
Parsha-inspired field days or nature exploration every Tuesday. Together, we connect with the weekly Parsha through unique hands-on experiences driven by student interest, bringing the lessons of the Parsha to life. At the end of every sefer, we have a group Shabbaton Siyum with all the co-op families.
EMUNAH V’OMANUT THURSDAY CO-OP:
Emunah V’omanut is creative Torah learning through art study, giving the children the opportunity to develop new skills while deepening their Torah education and connection to Hashem. Monthly study units driven by student interest, focusing on areas of Torah, Tefillah, and Jewish daily practices. These lessons are connected and brought to life through various creative activities and projects such as building a life-size mishkan or diving into all aspects of Mezuza (parchment, Safrus, Hebrew calligraphy, etc).
